The Idaho Irrigation Equipment Association distributes $15,100 in scholarships to 22 deserving students
The Idaho Irrigation Equipment Association has awarded $15,100 in scholarships to 22 students for the 2008-2009 school year.
These students were selected on the basis of academic accomplishments, leadership, and an interest in pursuing a degree in an agricultural or horticulture-landscape-related field.
“We are very grateful to the companies who contributed to this year’s scholarship fund,” said Trace Bedke, scholarship chair
.
“We would also like to thank the companies who bought a booth at the Idaho Irrigation Equipment Show in Burley. A large percentage of the profit went towards scholarships,” Bedke said.

Karmella Dolecheck, daughter of Thomas and Suzann Dolecheck, Twin Falls, received a $ 600 scholarship to pursue her degree in Animal Science at Utah State University. The money for Dolecheck’s scholarship was donated by Irritrol Systems, Snake River Sales and IIEA.
Jaysa Fillmore, daughter of David and Melanie Crist, Twin Falls, received a $ 1000 scholarship to pursue her degree in Agricultural Education at the University of Idaho. The money for Fillmore’s scholarship was donated by Fresno Valves & Castings and Nelson Irrigation Corporation.
Lance Gillette, son of Larry and Cindy Gillette, Gooding, received a $ 500 scholarship to pursue his degree in Agricultural Science at the College of Southern Idaho. The money for Gillette’s scholarship was donated by Valmont Industries.
Jace Greiner, son of Mike and Tammy Greiner, Parma, received a $ 500 scholarship to pursue his degree in Agribusiness at Walla Walla Community College. The money for Greiner’s scholarship was donated by Spears Manufacturing, Valley Irrigation Service & Supply, and IIEA.
Adam Hales, son of Don and Ranel Hales, Blackfoot, received a $ 700 scholarship to pursue his degree in Agriculture Business at BYU-Idaho. The money for Hales' scholarship was donated by Clemons Sales Corp and IIEA.
Jessica Johnson, daughter of Jeffrey and Jeanette Johnson, Malta, received a $ 500 scholarship to pursue her degree in Agribusiness at BYU-Idaho. The money for Johnson’s scholarship was donated by The Sprinkler Shop and Rain Bird - Agri- Products Division.
Leah Meeks, daughter of Jim Meeks and Sharon Meeks, Twin Falls, received a $ 1200 scholarship to pursue her degree in Bio Resource Agricultural Engineering at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. The money for Meeks’ scholarship was donated by Lake Company and Interstate Plastics Inc..
Jenna Meeks, daughter of Jim Meeks and Sharon Meeks, Twin Falls, received a $ 700 scholarship to pursue her degree in Agricultural Economics at Colorado State University. The money for Meeks’ scholarship was donated by Hastings Irrigation and JM Eagle.
Matt Nelsen, son of Jack and Emily Nelson, Jerome, received a $ 500 scholarship to pursue his degree in Agricultural Education at the University of Idaho. The money for Nelsen’s scholarship was donated by Freedom Plastics, Layne Pumps and IIEA.
Scott Orthel, son of Gerald and Judy Orthel, Filer, received a $ 500 scholarship to pursue his degree in Soil and Land Resources at the University of Idaho. The money for Orthel’s scholarship was donated by B.A. Fischer Sales Co. Inc., Ag Sales and Kermit and Candy Cochran.
Valerie Pantone, daughter of Pamela and Tony Pantone, Shoshone, received a $ 700 scholarship to pursue her degree in Agricultural Engineering and Communications at the University of Idaho. The money for Pantone’s scholarship was donated by Senninger Irrigation, Mitchell, Lewis & Staver and IIEA.
Stephen Parrott, son of Dan and Cally Parrott, Buhl, received a $ 500 scholarship to pursue his degree in Agribusiness at the University of Idaho. The money for Parrott’s scholarship was donated by Gheen Irrigation Works, Irrigation Accessories Co. and IIEA.
Kaden Piva, son of John and Kathy Piva, Challis, received a $ 1000 scholarship to pursue his degree in Agribusiness at the University of Great Falls. The money for Piva’s scholarship was donated by Western Supply, Universal Sales, Inman Interwest Inc. and IIEA.
Whitney Plant, of Richard Plant and Terese Gibson, Blackfoot, received a $ 800 scholarship to pursue degree in Agribusiness and Agricultural Education at the University of Idaho. The money for Plant’s scholarship was donated by Matco-Norca, Inc. and IIEA.
Matt Richardson, son of Jim and Gina Richardson, Yerington, received a $ 700 scholarship to pursue his degree in Agriculture Systems Management and Agribusiness at the University of Idaho. The money for Richardson’s scholarship was donated by Advanced Irrigation, Pentair Water Group, and IIEA.
Kimbra Roche, daughter of LaMar and Sherri Roche, Parma, received a $ 800 scholarship to pursue her degree in Pre-Vet/Agricultural Education at the University of Idaho. The money for Roche’s scholarship was donated by G&S Sales, Action Machining, and IPS-Weld-On.
Joshua Schroeder, son of Philip and Lura Schroeder, American Falls, received a $ 600 scholarship to pursue his degree in Agricultural Engineering at the University of Idaho. The money for Schroeder’s scholarship was donated by Travis Pattern & Foundry and IIEA.
Shelli Simpson, daughter of Ronnie and Sharlene Smith, Hagerman, received a $ 700 scholarship to pursue her degree in Horticulture at BYU-Idaho. The money for Simpson’s scholarship was donated by Pipeco, Inc. and Rain Bird Turf Sales.
Jacob Turnbull, son of Ray and Vickie Turnbull, Cambridge, received a $ 500 scholarship to pursue his degree in Agriculture Engineering at the University of Idaho. The money for Turnbull’s scholarship was donated by WISH Northwest, Inc..
MaryJo Usabel, daughter of Joe and Jody Usabel, Marsing, received a $ 900 scholarship to pursue her degree in Business Administration at Northwest Nazarene University. The money for Usabel’s scholarship was donated by Lindsay Corporation, Cornell Pump Co. and IIEA.
McKenzey Woodward, daughter of Ross Newcomb, Dennis Hylton and Karen Hylton, Rupert, received a $ 700 scholarship to pursue her degree in Agribusiness at the College of Southern Idaho. The money for Woodward’s scholarship was donated by Rain For Rent and Toro.
Elizabeth Zimmerman, daughter of Don and Sue Zimmerman, Walla Walla, received a $ 500 scholarship to pursue her degree in Business at Carroll College. The money for Zimmerman’s scholarship was donated by Butte Irrigation and IIEA. |
