All classes are FREE. There is no registration necessary. The asterisk (**) indicates the class will give one recertification credit for Idaho's Private Applicator License. Bring your license with you! Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) credits have been approved in the following areas: Soil and Water (SW), Professional Development (PD), Pest Management (IPM) and Crop management (CM) . These classes can also be used for continuing education credits for the Irrigation Association.

1. **How much does a bad irrigation system cost you? - William Bohl and Howard Neibling, University of Idaho. Problems discussed include: poor distribution of chemicals and/or leaching due to bad equipment design, operation and maintenance. Pocatello Room (1 SW)
2. Show Me the Money - Representatives from Idaho Power, USDA-NRCS, Rocky Mountain Power and Bonneville Power Administration will discuss new cost share and loan programs for the 2009 irrigation season. Twin Falls Room (1 PD)

1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

1. Power-saving irrigation projects - Dennis Elison, Idaho Power Co.; Bob Smead, Rocky Mountain Power; and Dick Stroh, Bonneville Power Administration. Each representative will discuss one case study for improving an irrigation system. Pocatello Room. (1PD)
2. Preventative Maintenance for Sprinkler Irrigation Systems - Kay Stanger, Lindsay Corp. will discuss practical maintenance for pivots, wheel lines, and hand lines. Twin Falls Room (1CM)

3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m

1. **Mixing and Applying Chemicals Safely - Gale Harding, University of Idaho. Know the proper procedures for handling chemicals. Pocatello Room (1 IPM)
2. Variable Frequency Drives: Applications in Eastern Idaho - Quentin Nesbitt, Idaho Power Co. This class will discuss examples of where to use a drive and how much energy it can save; things to consider when buying a VFD. Twin Falls Room. (1 PD)

Pump Sizing Basics - Clint Eshelman, Mitchell Lewis & Staver. This course will teach how to determine GPM and Total Dynamic Head needed to select the correct pump. Temple View/River View Rooms

1. Pavers and Retaining WallsJeff Chapman, Basalite. Learn the proper procedures for installing pavers and building retaining walls. River View Room
2. Troubleshooting - Steve Eglinton, Pipeco, Inc. Learn how to find and fix problems with sprinkler start-ups, valves and controllers. Temple View Room

1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.

1. Filters - Ryan Bushman, Inman Interwest. Learn how to select the right filter for the right application. Also understand the difference between mesh and micron filters. River View Room
2. Backflow - Gary Frantz, Fitzpatrick Sales. This class will discuss proper installation of backflow devices, how they work, and troubleshooting problems. Temple View Room.

3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

1. Drip Irrigation - Cari Snyder, Netafim USA. Learn how and when to use a drip irrigation system. River View Room
2. Glue School - Clay Smith, G&S Sales. Avoid leaks by learning the proper technique for gluing all sizes of PVC pipe. Temple View Room
